response to essay in class.
the essay i am choosing to respond to is 'throwing like a girl' written by fallows.
just by looking at the title i thought that it would be a little stereotypical, but as i continued to read i was surprised by how interesting it actually was. when they compare the two photos of the clintons in the beginning it is very obvious that hilary is 'throwing like a girl'. to me it is more than just that, the way girls throw the ball is different than how a guy would. girls are structurally built differently than men, but girls can do just as much as a guy can if they set their mind to it.
when the writer began to talk about the way the women throw, and the way to men throw it got interesting to me. the way the shoulders are built in women are somehow different than how they are built in men, which i never knew. there were many facts in that writing that interested me, like how women softball players can throw a ball faster than the average male viewer.
in conclusion they compared the two images again, which i could still see differences in but i did have a better view on the situation as a person. i liked this reading, but i also liked the others. it was a great variety of genres.
if i had to describe my reading strategy with this essay it would definitely be reading through and highlighting at the same time. thanks for reading!
P.S i have pictures of myself and my friends on these blog posts hoping you guys will get to know me better, but i also have pictures that relate to the topic.
picture #1- my friend caidyn and i on the pontoon watching fireworks.
picture #2-softball&baseball

I like your views on the writing. I think it is very interesting women have the capable to throw fast with a little practice. I was a softball player as a kid and can say that women can keep up with men and let that ball rip.
