Zero Dark Thirty (Revised)

Zero Dark Thirty was a very amazing, and thrilling movie. This film displays the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Maya, the main character, interrogates people from Al Qaeda that are in prison. That then leads her to Osama Bin Laden.

I liked this film a lot. Everything was very thrilling and always had me guessing what was going to happen next.  I liked all of the action, and the parts that had you on the edge of your seat. It was very entertaining to watch. I did hold it to a higher expectation because it was a very political movie, and it was also about two and a half hours. It let me down a little bit, because I don't believe that they portrayed the CIA correctly. I did like it a lot don't get me wrong, but I think it was just a little miss leading in some parts. I really liked how a woman was the leading actress, and the  main character because it showed that we do have power as women.

I really don't pay much attention to politics, or anything that has to do with the government, but I do know that this film was liked by many people. It won best picture at the Oscars in 2013. It did really well the first week of sales too, it collected a total amount of about $134,000,000 at the box office. Obviously as an American watching this film was entertaining to us. I guess I tried looking at it from a perspective of a muslim, and how they felt watching it, or if they ever did watch it. I would be really upset as someone who supported Al Qaeda watching this movie, but if I was just a muslim person watching this without being devoted to that terrorist group then I think I would have been interested as to how our government handled that situation.  Overall I really liked the movie, but I think that it was pretty violent at points, and I also think that people really talked it up before actually watching it.

I rewatched the movie a second time, and this time I watched it with the subtitles which helped a ton. I think watching it with the subtitles made me appreciate and understand it a lot more than when I didn't do that. I think that at a young age you should not be allowed to watch this movie, but as a high schooler or college student I think this would be appropriate. I totally recommend it!! It was such a great movie!
